About Us
We believe that church is not just a place to attend, but an expression of the kingdom of heaven on earth. We live this out by being a community of people who are centred on Jesus, experiencing His transforming power, and engaging in His mission for the good of our city.
Church Life
We gather on Sundays at 10 AM at SilverCity St. Vital Cinemas.
Our community is made up of men, women and families from many walks of life. Beyond Sunday morning services, our community gathers during the week in Life Groups, where we build life-giving friendships and encourage each other as we follow Jesus. We also host prayer gatherings, worship nights and other events designed to help believers grow in relationship with God.
Our Values
We prioritize the presence of Jesus.
We joyfully embrace our complete dependence on the Holy Spirit for living as faithful followers of Jesus. Whether in Sunday services, prayer gatherings, or Life Groups, we seek to cultivate the presence of Jesus through His Spirit.
We proclaim the message of Jesus.
Preaching and teaching the Word of God is a key mark of the church. Sharing the gospel is a key mark of disciples. Therefore, we seek to be a community that both shares, and is shaped by, the words of Jesus.
We pursue the mission of Jesus.
We have the privilege of joining Jesus in His mission of bringing the kingdom of heaven to earth. This is expressed in our passion for sharing the good news of Jesus with our city, and planting churches that share the good news of Jesus across our country.
We practice the ministry of Jesus.
By both word and deed, Jesus demonstrated that He came to serve, not to be served. Through Serve Teams in our church and by working for the good of the people of Winnipeg, we seek to embody the ministry of Jesus by serving each other and serving our city.
Our Convictions
Submission to Scripture
We embrace the Bible as the infallible, unfailing and life-giving Word of God. We joyfully submit our lives to be shaped by its teaching.
Fullness of the Spirit
We wholeheartedly recognize our dependence on the Holy Spirit for life and service. We passionately pursue the gifts and graces of the Spirit, as taught in the Scripture.
Intentional Disciple-Making
We are devoted to the command of Jesus to make disciples. Our aim is a community in which every member is walking in intentional obedience to Jesus.
Extraordinary Prayer
We believe that God is calling His people to contend in prayer for an awakening to God in our nation. This expectation fuels our passion to be a praying people.
Kingdom Expression
We desire to be a tangible expression of the kingdom of heaven in our city. We seek to extend the kingdom of heaven across our nation by planting churches.
Our Statement of Faith
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the infallible, unfailing Word of God. It was inspired by the Holy Spirit and written through Spirit-empowered people as God’s revelation of Himself to man.
We believe that the Bible is the final and absolute authority for Christian belief and behaviour. Unique and unequalled in power and authority, the Bible is the supreme standard by which all human conduct and opinions must be tried.

God
We believe in one true and living God who exists eternally in unity as three equal persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each member of the Godhead, while having distinct and complementary roles, have exactly the same nature, essence and being.
*We believe in one God the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, being of the same essence as the Father. Through Him, all things were made. For us and for our salvation, He came down from heaven; he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and was made human. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, suffered and was buried. On the third day, He rose again, according to the Scriptures, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom shall have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of life, who spoke through the prophets. He proceeds from the Father and the Son, and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.

Humanity
We believe that God created humanity, male and female, in His own image as the crowning work of His creation. Humanity was created free from sin but sinned against God by their own choice, bringing sin and death into the world. All human beings are separated from God and under the power of sin and death, and are in desperate need of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Salvation
We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried, and rose again securing salvation for all who repent and trust in Him.
We believe that salvation is in Christ alone, by grace alone, through faith in Him alone. The moment one puts their faith in Jesus, they receive the gift of eternal life, are declared righteous before God, and are adopted into the family of God.

Baptism and Communion
We believe that Christian baptism is the public declaration of a believer’s repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. This act of obedience identifies the believer with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection through immersion in water.
We believe that communion as commanded by Jesus symbolizes the new covenant inaugurated in His blood. Communion is the coming together of believers to commemorate the Lord’s death until He returns.

The Church
We believe that each person who has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is made part of the universal church, the body of Christ, whose head is Jesus Christ Himself. Each local church is an expression of the universal church.
We believe that belonging to a local church is essential for all believers; for worship, teaching, prayer, fellowship, and discipleship.
We believe that the local church is the primary vehicle for the fulfilling of Jesus’ command to make disciples of all nations.

Eternity
We believe that God, in His own time, will bring the present age to an end.
We believe in the glorious, visible and personal return of Jesus Christ to the earth.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, and that Christ will judge as the righteous Judge.
We believe that all who have rejected salvation in Christ will spend eternity in everlasting punishment in hell.
We believe that all who have received salvation in Christ will spend eternity with God in the new heavens and new earth.

One family, three cities
Cities Church is one church family with locations in three cities. As one family, we function under one team of leaders and one board of directors. The Senior Pastor leads the pastoral team, while each location is shepherded by its Lead Pastor. This allows us to be united in mission and culture, while contextualizing our ministry for the unique needs of each city God has called us to. It is our prayer that God will use us to plant more locations across Canada.
Leadership
Cities Church is led by a team of pastors who are responsible for the mission, doctrine and ministry of the church. Along with the staff team, our pastors ensure the teaching, care and discipleship of our community.
The pastoral team is supported by a board of directors who are responsible for the legal, financial and organizational integrity of the Church.
